  1. I think Hammurabi's code was VERY unjust. I mean, if a nun went into a bar, she would be burned! HOW IS THAT FAIR! It's not.

Second, if a man cannot pay his debt, he has to sell his wife, son, or daughter, and they would be put to work for 3 years! Not only are they punishing the man, barely, but they're punishing the family as well! That was very unfair. The family didn't do anything wrong! WHy are they punished! they couldn't just make him workj to pay it off! WHY. WHY IS THAT! It's not fair.

Third, his punishments were way to harsh. You would've thought a bow who slapped his father was just slapped back. But no, THEY CUT HIS HANDS OFF. WOuld you want to go through childhood without hands! No, I didn't think so.

So, that is why his code was totally unfair.

  2. I think that Hammurabi's code of law was unjust because if a women belittled her husband she would be thrown into water. I thinlk that is unfair because she might just be defending herself. A lot of the people that get thrown into the water they cant swim. -blake benhardt- :)

  3. hammurabbies code of laws were horible.first,he cut peoples hands off.secondly,if a woma belittles her husband she should be thrown in the water to drown. That is horible to just sit there and drown because you dont know how to swim. finally,if a nun should walk into a liquer store and drink she shall be burned.slowly dieing is not right i mean burning someone is too harsh for a king to do to his people.-amanda jimenez-

  4. Hammurabi's laws are unjust because if a boy hits his dad his hand should be cut off. Thats not right the dad would probably hit the boy back so why isn't his hands cut off. I don't think these laws should have existed because Hammurabi would have never follwed these rules if he had too.

  6. I think Hammurabi's Code of Laws were just, this is my opinion because if you don't want the punishment, then don't do the crime. Even though most of these punishments were very cruel and violent, it should be fair. If someone breaks the law, then they deserve severe punishment! You are not going to let the he/she get away. Just like this punishment, if a man is to accuse another man of thievery, then that man being accused shall jump into the river. If this man is to survive the punishment, then the accuser shall be killed. But if the man accused dies in the water, then the accuser shall take all the other person's belongings and shall not be killed. Now a days laws are not as strict as back then, but back then, that's just how they decided to do these things. Here's another one, if a son is to slap his father, then his hands shall be cut off. This is fair, because you shouldn't be slapping your father. Do the right thing, if you don't then you will face punishment. Just like at school, there are certain levels of punishment for what you do. There are punishments such as, In School Suspension, and Out of School Suspension, and their are also punishment of getting a closed lunch, and as well as being expelled. Learn from your mistakes, and know right from wrong. This is why I think Hammurabi's Code Of Law is just.
